JUMA

Law, Environment, and Justice in the Anthropocene

is a research group affiliated with the Department of Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), dedicated to producing critical knowledge on the challenges faced by Law in the context of the environmental and climate crisis.

Coordinated by Professor Danielle de Andrade Moreira, JUMA conducts research across three main areas: climate litigation, climate justice, and environmental licensing.

One of JUMA’s key initiatives within its climate litigation research is the Brazilian Climate Litigation Platform, developed by the JUMA team. The platform monitors and compiles information on climate-related lawsuits in Brazilian courts and tracks the development of this field both nationally and internationally.

This website provides information about JUMA and its team, research areas, publications, videos, news, contact details, and social media, as well as access to the databases developed by JUMA, including the Brazilian Climate Litigation Platform.
