Methodology

The Brazilian Climate Litigation Platform was developed using JUMA’s own methodology, designed with the purpose of establishing common criteria for analyzing lawsuits related to climate litigation in the country. Our methodology is available in this document that sets out the definitions, scope, and principles guiding the collection and classification of cases. It aims to provide readers with a clear understanding of the concepts applied in building this database. At present, the methodology document is available only in Portuguese. However, any questions regarding translation or the classification categories can be clarified through JUMA’s publications in English.
